Hillary Clinton goes off on Republicans after it’s revealed unauthorized images of her were released: I'm done with this. If you guys are doing that, I am done. You can hold me in contempt from now until the cows come home. This is just typical behavior.

Did Boebert not think it would get back to Clinton’s legal team during the deposition? Like, what was going through her mind?

Not a lot, generally

Generally the sound of the ocean breeze forlornly whistling past a rock formation

567

u/mymaya 5d ago

Oh you know it’s nothing so pleasant. It’s just tv static.

291

u/chopsuirak 5d ago

I thought it was the sound of her hitting a vape and the general sound of cock gargling.

TV static is nicer than that

71

u/BeardedPuffin 5d ago

I was thinking more like long bouts of silence interrupted by an occasional cat fart. Plus maybe the sound of a lav mic picking up someone scratching their ass crack through their pants.

She’s one of the few politicians I believe are genuinely 100% exactly what they appear to be, and hardly is ever acting, which is rare as hell for a politician.

She’s genuine trailer park white trash. At least 3 generations of publicly documented abuse, teenage pregnancies, public indecency, and general Jerry Springer shit. Not much growing and reflecting has happened since the teen years.

She’s America’s trashiest grandma.

53

u/stevez_86 5d ago

Trashiest Grandma since Sarah Palin.

40

u/4evaloney 5d ago

Doesn't Sarah Palin suddenly seem like a sophisticated person compared to this one?!

34

u/stevez_86 5d ago

Naaahhh, almost exactly the same. Son's that have legal troubles and child abuse accusations. Palin's daughter was also tabloid fodder due to some questionable choices.

The only difference is Boebert is younger. Based on the trajectory it could end up worse in time.

Boebert wanted street cred. She figured a photo of herself at the Clinton deposition would play to her base that “Boebert is FINALLY holding these people accountable!!”

Beyond that, she didn’t care what else happened.

The controversy is the point for her. Now, instead of no story at all, or worse, a story where Boebert’s name never comes up, half the news articles are about how Boebert leaked a photo of the private deposition.

To her base, that’s “a representative sharing information with us, her constituents!”

238

u/capron 5d ago

Her constituents completely missing the point of republicans forcing a closed hearing and then one of them breaking their own rules to post propaganda-grams is so sad. Like how dumb are you? This dumb, right here. Breaking rules to own the libs is just such a stupid way to exist.

53

u/Jewnadian 5d ago

Did she win by like 100 votes last time? I thought she was a hairs breath from being tossed.

45

u/Laxku 5d ago

She carpetbagged her way into a "safe" district for last election after the close call, and is hopefully gonna lose in November if anyone here in CO has been paying attention. If we're really lucky, she gets primaried by one of a few worthy candidates on the ballot.

She's always won on name-recognition alone though so let's not be too optimistic.

89

u/Jay_Hawker_12021859 5d ago

Yeah, the hillbillies in her district are slowly being priced off of their own land. Which I'm typically not a fan of, but I can make an exception in this case.

34

u/[deleted] 5d ago

She switched from the 3rd to the 4th District to keep from losing her seat in Congress. She moved from Rifle to Windsor.

16

u/Jay_Hawker_12021859 5d ago

Right, and the front range sections are quickly gaining on the rural majority. Add to it that CO might join the gerrymandering train and Bobo's seat is anything safe.

57

u/gaqua 5d ago

That's expected. They have hated Hillary since the 90s. Jesus Christ could come down from heaven, magically confirm to everyone in the world that He was, in fact, the Messiah, in a way that everybody would believe him, and if he then said "Hillary is chill, I like her" they'd crucify him again just for that.

It’s been well founded that MAGA is more concerned about social media bullshit like this rather than anything of substance. They wanted to show Hillary in a deposed setting with the implication being that she’s somehow associated with the Epstein Files. It may sound stupid to us, but MAGA sees this photo and comes to their own conclusions.

159

u/GamingVision 5d ago

What’s sadder than their behavior is that this behavior and pandering to social media has won them the house, senate, and presidency. The fact that democrats might win back a slim majority in the house and the senate after Trump wiping his ass with every facet of the constitution, democracy, and decency speaks to where society has gone.

Piers Morgan is one of those despicable cunts who also tends to have the occasional brilliant moment.

15

u/criminally_inane 5d ago

It's fine to occasionally agree with someone who is otherwise terrible. Real people aren't cartoon villains, and even the worst people aren't going to have every possible bad quality. If you resist the idea that a bad person can make a good point, then you risk falling into an echo chamber where you only really listen to the people you already agree with.

It's kind of funny to see maga Americans go on British media, especially conservative media, because the media (even Morgan in this case) give them softball questions that they completely bomb, usually pissing off the host in the mean time leading them to go in for the kill. But you know at least she did better than Shapiro lol

Every single one of these people saw Hillary Clinton testified during the Benghazi hearings. She sat and testified for nearly 12 hours. They really thought they could break her, make her look bad or get her to say something incriminating about herself or her husband. What a joke. Not shocking to see this all backfire.

416

u/Caelinus 5d ago

They have sampled their own supply with her. They simultaneously think she is insanely incompetent and that she runs a giant criminal network.

So the fact that she is competent and does not run a giant criminal network always blindsides them.

They really needed to just stick with the constant unending slander they have been doing for 30ish years. That works for them. So much so that half the leftists I talk to are convinced Hillary is both incompetent and runs a giant criminal network.

No one ever provides me evidence of that, of course, because if there was any someone would have found it in the last 30 years. It is why they doubled down so hard on her having a few mishandled emails on a secure private server. It was literally all they could find.

43

u/framistan12 5d ago

To be fair, incompetence and running a giant criminal network are not actually incompatible, if you count Trump's family grifting empire.

13

u/Caelinus 5d ago

I was not so much implying they were linked as I was saying they are both things they claim about her that would make her very, very easy to catch. So they keep thinking they can drag her in and she will break under stupid questions.

Trump is so obviously corrupt and criminal at a glance because he is incompetent and runs a criminal enterprise. He just admits to crimes on a fairly regular basis unprompted.

13

u/SamIamGreenEggsNoHam 5d ago edited 5d ago

They think that way because they themselves are incompetent and are also running a giant criminal network. Every accusation is an admission with these people.

u/gereffi 5d ago

They might have forgotten because Republicans don’t have to have any type of qualifications to get appointed to important jobs in the government.

543

u/jaron_b 5d ago

Yeah they've definitely thought for her entire political career that she is under qualified and just capitalizing on the fact that her husband was president. That's what they've always thought about her. They forget that she was highly qualified to get into politics before she married her husband, earned her position in politics and did a decent to good job in her positions that she was elected and appointed to. She is more qualified than every member of Trump's cabinet And scrutinized 10 times as much.

Which is exactly why they made a huge deal about DEI. That way when they just give away jobs to whoever, if anyone tries to say they aren’t earning their jobs on merit just because of who they are, conservatives can just say they’re trying to flip the script because they’re upset over maga making a fuss about DEI. It’s always projection with them. Calculated projection. Everything they say the other side is doing or has done, they plan on doing it later themselves or have done themselves. No, they wanted a closed door meeting and to share some no context photos and imply she was guilty.

If they thought they could get her this would have been public from the start.

57

u/Primitive_Teabagger 5d ago edited 5d ago

I was a conservative during Benghazi. All we did was replay clips to ourselves, of her saying "what difference does it make?"

Therefore she was guilty. No need to watch the rest of the hearing. No need to even know in what context she asked such a question.

I assume the same will be done today. Honestly surprised she even testfied. No amount of truth in front of the camera will reach conservative audiences

u/jaron_b 5d ago

The thing is that's fine. If you want to blame the Secretary of State and hold them responsible for any and all debts that happen to military troops overseas because that is essentially their job as Secretary of State then hold that same logic to any other Secretary of State. How many Americans died this weekend? When are the hearings for that? We both know they aren't happening. That was always my issue. I was fine with their logic if they wanted to use that logic just apply it to everybody.

I don't hold her in the highest regards but she definitely has more balls than a lot of the republican leadership. I know that's not saying much.

Jesus, hearing Hillary's lawyer and understanding what a real lawyer looks like, it's kind of badass. You have Bondi who can do nothing but scream and insult. This lady is cool, calm, collected. I miss smart people so much.

Is this why Nancy Mace said she came off as unhinged? Fuck, I don't blame her. I would have walked the fuck out and not come back. These Republicans are a fucking joke.

Nancy Mace apparently thinks anyone who is sober at any given time is unhinged.

Nancy Mace seems more unhinged in general

25

u/rividz 5d ago

Nancy Mace cares about what people on Reddit think about her, which is pathetic lol

She was obsessed with monitoring her reputation online. In addition to reportedly having her staff create burner accounts to defend her, Mace allegedly instructed a staffer to go on Reddit forums about the “hottest women in Congress” to boost her standing in the rankings and comment where needed. Mace was “very adamant” about getting the staffer to upvote any posts about the congresswoman and her attractiveness, according to a second former staffer.

Trump didn't need an island to rape girls, and it would be great if people would stop pretending that the rapes only happened on the island.

Before there even was an island, girls were being raped in (at least) Florida and New York. And some of those girls were recruited from Trump's properties.

(Also, Trump was found guilty of rape, even if New York chooses to call that rape "sexual abuse.")

Wouldn’t shock me at all if Boebert did that to provoke this very reaction, which will be sliced up and disseminated on conservative media to try to convince Republicans the Clintons aren’t cooperating.

397

u/R-Dragon_Thunderzord 5d ago

Except even outraged Hillary managed the reaction well making the point clear that the committee was breaking its own rules and rightly felt she was under no obligation to be deposed by them if they aren’t going to hold themselves in order. She was a Senator after all, she’s been in that game on their side of the dais longer than some of these chucklefucks have been

I don't think there will ever be a politician that will get as much disrespect as Hilary does. She's been part of several "controversies" most going back to the 90s, but never an actual scandal that damanges her reputation.

We could have her, 9 years ago, as POTUS. I feel utterly alone in my circles because everyone (even leftists!) thinks she was unpresentable. Unpresentable.

She underwent the most despicable anti women campaign of all time, not just in the US but also in other countries.

Needless to say, she represented then and represents now a hope for the world.

6

u/Grayseal 4d ago

I've never heard non-conservative critics talk about presentability here. It's far more to do with ratfucking the progressive Democrat movement out of a fair primary.

Please don't hate me, I am actually curious as to why people hate Hillary Clinton. The Benghazi, emails, and uranium shit seem like way overblown or straight up wrong. Also her husband got a blowjob, which sucks, but in reality how much was she involved and how much is overblown in any of these things?

I feel like I'm supposed to hate her, but I honestly don't think she was some nefarious actor in any of them. Please correct me with evidence.

22

u/UtterEast 5d ago

Conservatives and conservative-controlled media have spent tens of thousands of hours and millions of dollars trying to destroy, poison, or at least sow doubt about Hillary Clinton's credibility for 35 years, and arguably 45 or more (she didn't change her last name when she married Bill in 1975, but did when he ran for governor of Arkansas for a non-consecutive term in 1982, and the media found a woman not changing her last name at marriage to be DEEPLY disturbing and suspect).

Everybody Knows that Hillary Clinton is Bad and Everyone hates her. Young left-wing and centrist voters fell for it in 2016, people who were toddlers or who weren't born yet when Bill was president. Fish don't know they're wet. It's just in the air we breathe.

Hillary is a bitch, or she's cringe, or she's too much of a hawk, or she wasn't left-wing enough early enough in the 90s and 2000s, or she's shrill, or she's ~unlikeable~, or whatever hobby horse the person you ask thinks of first. Butter hemails.

And a massive part of it is just that people hate women, including other women. Kamala didn't have the burden of three decades of ugly press and she still lost against a multiple felon and rapist. (She had her legs cut out from under her by corrupt media and the compromised legislature and judiciary, but people's contempt for women is a big factor.)

u/Vioralarama 5d ago

Thirty years of propaganda against her. It started before Bill's election. Back in the day potential first ladies would have a cookie baking competition. Hillary said nope and didn't even bother to say why, she clearly thought it was insulting. The traditional nuclear family fanboys were appalled. And thus it began.

I used to tell people we were getting two great minds for the price of one with Bill Clinton. Some people took issue with that but never explained why. Now I know it's because she's a woman but I was naive.
