Perhaps there were budget cuts or something???

I have been having a lot of medical issues lately and the doctor recently found something. It’s extremely personal and I specifically asked my mom to tell nobody about it other than “I’m having issues”. We had the whole family over grandma and everything and she just told everyone in the living room and laughed it off when I asked her about it. Now my little brother is making fun of me and I don’t even know what to think of my mother.

She’s done stuff like this in the past too, making posts on facebook about things I asked her not to talk about, then gets mad at me when I tell her I feel like I can’t trust her.

It kills me when I order something like a pizza and when it arrives the driver calls from their car to say they're here. My answer is always, "okay I'll see you at the door."

Don't be lazy. The 20% tip for you to drive under 2 miles and bring the nowadays-overpriced food earns me a walk to my door.

And it has nothing to do with them being in a rush or being double parked, because it's going to take the same amount of time no matter who does the walking. Longer if I have to put on shoes. Drivers, get out of your car and finish the job.

Maybe this is just a local phenomenon but it's obnoxious.

These Girl Scouts are out there selling cookies as a fundraiser and some people just can’t resist getting their panties in a bunch with their moral high ground. They aren’t hurting anyone and raising money they need so why can’t they just leave them alone?

I live in a large courtyard building which includes multiple numbered addresses inside the courtyard, let’s say the address range is 119-135 Main St. I also rarely receive mail, so I don’t check my mailbox unless Informed Delivery notifies me and I normally don’t even go into the courtyard / use the front door because the back is closer to everything.

Last Fall, I opened my mailbox and found a stack of “return to sender” stickered envelopes with the return address of 121 Main St. The envelopes were dark eggplant with dark gold writing in a very small fancy font, so I could see how it could be mistaken for 131 Main, but it was very hard to read. I brought the envelopes over to the other address & buzzed them to deliver. The neighbors are an engaged couple, the envelopes were their “save the date” cards, & the future groom (FG) even admitted that some of their family members were complaining that theirs were misdelivered because of the color/font combination. Future bride (FB) said that I’d have to check more often once their wedding invites went out, I gave her a look & said “yeah, that won’t be happening, you should probably get those fixed.” and FG made some “oh yeah, we’ll do that” noises, so I thought it was all taken care of.

Fast forward to last week, I checked my mailbox and there was a huge stack of wedding invitations that were “return to sender” because these dingbats decided to keep their eggplant & gold color palette, along with the world’s smallest swirly font and the mail carriers apparently could not deliver a lot of them. I brought them over, FB smirked at me & said “I knew you’d bring them over” like I’m her personal mail carrier. I told her that I’m not available to do that & she started overreacting very dramatically about how I’m jealous (?) and she won’t let me ruin her wedding (also ???).

I am anticipating a flood of response cards in the coming weeks & I may decide not to open my mailbox until June.

So for school im reading Jon Krakauer’s into the wild. As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors skiing and mountaineering, the whole story pisses me off. The amount of attention that Chris McCandless gets is far too much. Hundreds of people commit every day, but why does he get attention for doing something ignorant and dumb where others would never make the news even though they’re going through a genuine mental problem? Nothing to me is beautiful about his transcendentalist ideas where he leaves his insanely privileged position and his loving family to not only mourn, but not know anything. Now I have to write an essay on the ideas that I don’t agree with. My experience with being outdoors has taught me of course different ways to keep myself safe (experience and classes) and he went against pretty much every intelligent thing to do. It is genuinely near the same scale as saying you want to escape society, and then trying to survive in the Mariana Trench while free diving. I feel even though krakauer says that he isn’t trying to influence the readers opinion on McCandless, he does anyway by providing media about an idiot who did one of the dumbest possible things.

Got up and started working on my laundry and felt an itch on my leg. It hurt when I scratched it so I looked and saw this giant bruise. The only logical explanation is that I was bitten by a shark in my dream and the realms crossed lol
