We deserve this sound. We are mindless shortform content receptacles scrolling and consuming, while we consume a clip of someone squegeeing side mirrors we deserve to be played circus horn music, fake laughter, Alvin and the chipmunks speaking mandarin, and a Tim Allen style question-grunt to really drive home who we are and what we’re doing. Laugh along with the Chinese recording little piggy and scroll on

My side mirrors have a heater symbol, never did anything, figured I didn't actually have them. Well now you've made me look more into it...

TIL I need to hold the defrost button for 3 seconds to turn them on. How silly. Worked like a champ though, so thanks for sending me down that little rabbit hole just as it started snowing lol.

Well might be something else by now but RainX causes a slight blur that it not visible on mirrors but is tiring on the windsheild.

The best I found years ago was to clean inside and out with alcohol until the paper towels came away spotless. If people smoke in the car this may take many strokes with alcohol... do the corners first so you don't later drag grime over the spotless glass later.

Anyone with a pitted windshield try cleaning with Newspaper (B&W). The ink makes its way into the pits and does a remarkable job with glare.

Modern cars often have heated rear mirrors, usually linked to the rear window heating. Turning that on will dry the spray water accumulating on the mirror

We do have heated mirrors here but they are usually on available on luxury cars or as an extra cost on some less expensive cars. I bought my Mazda in 2024 for $35,000 it has heated leather seats but heated mirrors weren’t even an option that was offered.

Heated mirrors do not solve dried on water marks which can impair your visibility.

Pretty much every car comes with this feature these days unless it is super budget.

A lot of people may not even realise they have this. If your AC controls have a rear defroster, oftentimes there's something in the mirrors too, controlled by that button. It usually looks like a rectangle with three vertical wavy lines coming off it.
