Do these celebrities actually hang out in clubs throwing dollars at the peasants?

950

u/VicTheWallpaperMan Mar 03 '26

He's most likely getting paid $100k+ just to be there that night and do nothing. It draws people into these clubs.

people go to a club to... snatch at money that a millionaire threw in the air?

is this not unimaginably weird and demeaning?

422

u/amaru_933 Mar 03 '26

People go to a club to party and get shit faced. And go crazy when suddenly 50 appears throwing money around.

Honestly. This is the most relatable and least crazy video I have seen from the US all year.

Its just redditors being redditors

-14

u/fiftyseven Mar 03 '26

I am broke enough that if someone wants to throw money in my face I am not going to complain.

7

u/toolsoftheincomptnt Mar 03 '26

This is old-school shit, though.

In the early aughts when “Make it Rain” topped the charts, the money-throwing crossed over from the strip clubs into real clubs.

The problem here is that I heard one or more of these celebs were actually throwing branded paper that just looked like real money, like “In G-Unit We Trust” kind of shit.

Which made young ladies unhappy, as one can imagine.

Rich people like Rockefeller made a marketing shtick out of handing out dimes to poor people. They ate it up and revered them for handing out dimes from their (millions of) dollars stash.

This is that equivalent

-19

u/innerparty45 Mar 03 '26

No, it's weird as hell lol.

Only a ludicrously materialistic society can normalize this. Unless this is a strip club or some mafia gathering place, in that case, ok I guess.

7

u/ThePublikon Mar 03 '26

Nobody really cares about the money as such, think of it like safe indoor fireworks almost, or confetti. It's just to make the whole thing more ridiculous/fun.

-10

u/innerparty45 Mar 03 '26

It's just to make the whole thing more ridiculous/fun.

Exactly, yeah. Throwing money at people making something more fun is pretty concerning.

u/PM_me_your_whatevah Mar 03 '26

Critiques of capitalism be getting downvoted. Watch this whole post get locked here soon.

9

u/dubblebubbleprawns Mar 03 '26

In what way is this a critique of capitalism haha

7

u/amaru_933 Mar 03 '26

Hes not critiquing capitalism.

It's just not okey for him to throw money around unless you are a whore or a druglord and mass murderer.

He's proving his own point actually. And 50 is kind of mafia

5

u/Final_Squirrel_7462 Mar 03 '26

People are often throwing money around or wasting $1000 bottles on champagne showers in certain clubs. When I was in my 20s I probably had more Dom Perignon on my clothes than some people had champagne in their lifetime. Sure it’s not a lifestyle for you, but you have obviously no authority to judge that particular lifestyle.

It's just not okey for him to throw money around unless you are a whore or a druglord and mass murderer

You do understand that was sarcasm?

1

u/Few_Dig_9435 Mar 03 '26

Okay man, never been to a bar or club with friends?

-8

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '26

It's absolutely weird as fuck and the downvotes are uncalled for. Capitalism has infested so many people with the sickness of greed, all dignity has been lost.

13

u/dubblebubbleprawns Mar 03 '26

Is capitalism the reason people think "I want to go to a club and 50 cent is gonna be at this club so this is the club I'm gonna go to"?

If you're saying communism means no clubs or no 50 cent, that's a rough selling point for people

-5

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '26

Brainless comment. Why do people think that the absence of unfettered capitalism is communism? Are you a bot? Do you have any idea what I'm even talking about?

10

u/dubblebubbleprawns Mar 03 '26

Okay.

If you're saying the absence of capitalism means no clubs or no 50 cent, that's a rough selling point for people

I don't know what you're talking about, you're obviously WAY too smart. It's WAY too high level. Comments like that are just SUPER big brained.

Your reaction to a video of a millionaire giving his money away is to whine about how capitalistic it is? Now that's weird

0

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '26

"Dance for me peasants, gaze upon your lord and know he is superior. Love me for my wealth, ignore everything else."

6

u/dubblebubbleprawns Mar 03 '26

Sometimes I wonder if some of you have ever seen outside or other people

2

u/carcar134134 Mar 03 '26

50 is well loved for more than just being wealthy...

5

u/XenoGalaxias Mar 03 '26

That's literally not what's happening though. You think he cares about making the peasants dance for him? He's probably just being paid to host a party/promote the club and he's throwing money around because it's funny for everyone lol

-1

u/dissalutioned Mar 03 '26

Dude wrote "Get Rich or Die Tryin" but people still tryin to argue with you

35

u/Aiyon Mar 03 '26

Legit. It's not even about the money, its hardly gonna be a lifechanging amount. Its just a cool story to go "on my night out a celebrity was literally throwing money at us" lmao

8

u/Apprehensive_Put_321 Mar 03 '26

Id be drinking all the money I caught that night lol

5

u/Caleb-Blucifer Mar 03 '26

Did you think making it rain was an exaggeration?

3

u/Top_Rekt Mar 03 '26

This looks like a good time in my 20s lol

Too old for that stuff now. Can't believe I'm saying this now. Covid messed my time up.

31

u/P4azz Mar 03 '26

What?

Dude, him being there is the draw. Not him throwing money. That's what he's paid for: Appearance.

10

u/figmaxwell Mar 03 '26

I am poor enough to be ok with being demeaned for cash. Especially in a way that isn’t all that demeaning like having someone throw cash at your face because you made them laugh.

11

u/HornetPhysical4598 Mar 03 '26

What do you mean? "Dance for scraps peasants" is demeaning? /s

3

u/bickdiggles Mar 03 '26

Son we go to work 8 hours a day to make people millions of dollars all while being paid a fraction of a fraction for doing the work and getting a monitored 30. Minutes for lunch.

Demeaning went out the window a while aho

4

u/FrostyD7 Mar 03 '26

It's what he does in his rap videos. I think if you are going to a club to see 50 cent, you won't feel disrespected by this.

3

u/Rassendyll207 Mar 03 '26

I'd try it out and see how I feel about it.

3

u/poop_snausages Mar 03 '26

We all demean ourselves to various degrees for money.

3

u/Sacrefix Mar 03 '26

You must have a weak imagination.

1

u/IAmReallyNotReal Mar 03 '26

wait til you see a game show

1

u/Multifaceted-Simp Mar 03 '26

You're not supposed to pick up the cash, you dance on it

1

u/degoba Mar 03 '26

You must have never been to a bikini ladies night at a club where ladies drink for free all night long. Weird and demeaning are like the entire point of these clubs.

1

u/xv_boney Mar 03 '26

Weird and demeaning was thirty years ago.

Today, one bag of groceries costs a hundred and twenty dollars.

1

u/ohitsbrad Mar 03 '26

billionaire **

1

u/zmbjebus Mar 03 '26

Far less demeaning than most low wage jobs.

1

u/Zaozin Mar 04 '26

Late stage capitalism? 🤷

1

u/Bby5723 Mar 04 '26

John Elway is banned from strip clubs in Denver because he’d throw quarters at the dancers, I think in the grand scheme of things what 50 is doing is harmless

1

u/sump_daddy Mar 03 '26

> is this not unimaginably weird and demeaning?

they do it wearing incredibly demeaning outfits and the line to get in is sorted in order of whoever seems most promiscuous, so

yes

0

u/NOLA_Tachyon Mar 03 '26

Welcome to America!

4

u/Vsx Mar 03 '26

Yeah the crazy thing is how much these clubs must be pulling in a night to pay 6 figure appearance fees in the first place.

64

u/gsOctavio Mar 03 '26

This is at E11even in Miami. It’s a club/strip club which is why he has the cash. They have rappers on the weekends do like 20 minute shows and 50 performed this past weekend. Not all acts hang around after but I guess 50 wanted to.

12

u/bloodblondie Mar 03 '26

50 also regularly visited The Cheetah in ATL to chill, get dances, and throw money. I know he was never paid to be there other than VIP treatment; he just enjoyed it.

1

u/KingShaka23 Mar 04 '26

Damn here I thought this was from when he performed in Alameda during Super Bowl weekend since he's repping an SF Giants cap

11

u/albamarx Mar 03 '26

Yeah, this is a deeply weird situation. I’d fling my spare change at him.

2

u/gopherhole02 Mar 03 '26

its like a reverse strip club

1

u/TroGinMan Mar 03 '26

I think it's a photoshoot and is being paid to literally throw money

0

u/DieCastDontDie Mar 03 '26

50 cent biggest hit: in da club

0

u/Jimmy_Churi Mar 03 '26

Peasants need presents

0

u/The_Autarch Mar 03 '26

the clubs pay them an appearance fee.
