Government Starbucks founder says he is LEAVING deep blue home city of Seattle for Florida amid controversial wealth tax... as coffee giant begins shifting HQ staff to Tennessee
Howard Schultz and Starbucks have fundamentally shaped Seattle's identity, economy, and philanthropic landscape over four decades for the better.
His new home state of Florida is just one of nine US states that do not have a state personal income tax. Under current Washington law, it also falls within the nine income tax free states.
Tennessee also does not impose a personal income tax and generally offers a more competitive corporate tax structure than Washington, according to Tax Foundation analysts.

Government Washington moves to make data centers pay full grid costs
Washington Democrats are advancing new rules for the state’s fast‑growing data‑center industry, aiming to prevent its demands from driving up electricity costs for everyone else. But businesses are warning that this is too aggressive and will stop advancement.
House Bill 2515, would change the rules for how data centers connect to the grid. Under this proposal, these companies would be responsible for the entire cost of connecting to the grid and any system upgrades required to serve them. To protect local utilities, firms would also have to provide financial guarantees and pay fees if they decide to close up or scale back.

x.comThere are 539 childcare centers in Washington state that list Somali as the primary language. Most don’t even give a street address.
I don’t know how many of these are submitting fraudulent claims for state grants and subsidies, but I have a strong hunch the number is not zero.
