Man im having a bad day (bad year really thanks trump) but my dog is curled up on my feet, he not really a cuddler but when im sad hes always close.
I hope I remember all the little things about him because I know one day he will be gone.
Hes the best dog ever I love him so much.

Part of me still mourns losing this phase of life, but it’s beautiful seeing someone else enjoy it too.

Its joyous when you are there, it's almost overpowering to see your children experience those same joys

Same here. Playing outside with the dog on a fall day, waiting for halloween. Better times.

Not their first time. They get real flat to get ready for the ride lol.

Wish my doggy could figure it out. She still hasn’t learned to ride in a car.

I had a beagle that never figured it out and was too stubborn to sit or lay down. It was like watching someone try to surfboard for the first time, every time. Equally frustrating and hilarious. I'd sit in the back with him while my husband drove and hold him or catch him when he went flying around like a cartoon.

My coonhound was the same way...and super anxious too. Finally bought something that turns the whole back seat area flat, and tossed some blankets and a dog bed on it.
She loves it now.

My dog gets car sick/motion sickness. First time we bought her home she puked while I was holding her in the rocking chair (and rocking). *sigh*

haha yeah he looks so pumped for it. does your dog flatten out like that too when it's time to swing?

Seems like the montage that plays at the beginning of every revenge movie. Next scene; the protagonist wakes up screaming in the middle of the night, looks at the mirror, there’s tattoos on his body for some reason, he is unusually fit for a guy who obviously has let himself go.

The bedroom is messy and dimly lit. Only a sliver of light makes its way past the curtains, and reveals a picture frame on the drawer. A nostalgic memory portraying a kid and a dog on a swing, having the best time of their life. A stark contrast to the grim present.

I'm not sure the song about offing yourself with CO is the one to choose for this...lmao.

Yeah, kinda screams bot-post to me. No human would have "No surprises" be the soundtrack to a feel-good video.
Edit: Downvote presumably means I triggered the botfarm manager.
BOT BOT BOT asshole!

My dogs are notoriously dumb when it comes to swings: They try to stay with me, get in my way, and get hit.

How often do you secretly film children on swings
3
u/Mondak 4d ago
Seriously! I love this video don't get me wrong, but holy hell would I have NEVER filmed it. I am really hoping it is like dad or mom filming and then sharing because happy times.

u/IceBandicooot 4d ago
Looks like the kid is smiling to the camera at the start, I’m certain this is the parent filming lol.

Ohh ok. Thank you

the lyrics are somewhat dissonant from the music
a heart that's full up like a landfill
a job that slowly kills you
bruises that won't heal
you look so tired, unhappy
bring down the government
they don't, they don't speak for us
i'll take a quiet life
a handshake of carbon monoxide
and no alarms and no surprises
silent
this is my final fit
my final bellyache with
no alarms and no surprises, please
such a pretty house
and such a pretty garden
no alarms and no surprises, get me out of here
please

We have a video of our youngest at 5yo reading "Biscuit" to the family dog, who is gazing up at him adoringly. Every now and then, he pauses to ask, "do you like that, Daisy?" and Daisy does a head tilt or gives a yip.
Daisy crossed the rainbow bridge a long time ago, but I have it on good authority that he watches that video on a regular basis.

What an absolutely bizarre choice of song to put over a happy childhood memory lmao

I was so happy when the dog jumped on, it could have ended and I’d have been happy. But no, it got better

Really hope the one filming is the parent and not some creep taking videos of kids in public for internet clout...

I still remember playing with my puppy and taking photos of him on the big trampoline. Still beautiful photographs 20 years later.

I have fond memories around the same age with my yellow lab Brandy jumping into my sled as I flew down my back yard 🤗 She was such a great companion.

This right here is what life is all about. Or should be.
May we all find our own version of this.

I had a couple of dogs growing up.
One went on the slide with me and my sibling, another loved to help carry sticks and junk when we built a fortress in the woods, another pulled our sleds in the winter. I miss them so much, those were the best years of my life, nothing will beat it.
Now I am sad.
Have a nice day.

I love this! Also he definitely missed an opportunity to give his dog an underdog! Who remembers swingset underdogs??

My view of my youth changes so much as I get older. I look back on my younger years and it's like observing someone else's child. It's like watching an old home movie, hard to remember what it felt like to be there, but I can remember what so much of it looked like, but not from the first person point of view. From a distance. And I know it's hardly real, it's just my mind's interpretation now. Memory being more fantasy than reality. And my god we age so quickly!

And then he starts to cry a little because that dawg will be so dead by then.

I made a swing for my kids when they were little. Just a rope running through a hole in a board. My dog decided to get in on the action and would grab the rope and run until she could swing around in circles. I wish I had camera back then .

Man, I miss being this kid because adulthood in this timeline sucks. This made me remember all the crazy stuff my childhood dog and I did. 😊

This really holds the feeling of childhood well.
I hate that I was so incredulous that it might have been AI. I don't think it is but I can't be sure. I hate 2026.
