This is not the "unfiltered bad" subreddit. This is the helldivers masochists subreddit. If you absolutely must post a screenshot, you are required to censor the usernames of ALL people in the screenshot, including yourself. (Users can easily find the original post by clicking through your profile if they know you were involved in the screenshotted post) Censoring the subreddit name is required as well, as on smaller subreddits (such as unfiltered) it is very easy to find the post in the screenshot if you know both the title and the subreddit name. Brigading is against the rules of the entire site, and if this issue persists it could very well lead to this entire subreddit being shut down. If you were simply crossposting your own posts from the mainsub before, I am sorry for you getting caught in the crossfire. Feel free to repost the exact same post title and subject if you so desire.

Are we salty? Yes. Can we be snarky at times? Sure. Do we hate sloptubers? A lot of us do, yeah.

I wish it would suck more Hounds from Helldivers 1

I think the Hounds from HD1 would make a great enemy in Helldivers 2. Bot melee is okay, but they're lacking something truly *fast* aside from jetpack melee troopers. A weak but speedy melee enemy would make just keeping your distance and blasting way more difficult. Maybe their Robo-Nose could have an increased detection radius so stealth isn't just an instant win button. Still have us be able to hide from them, maybe just have them start wandering toward us if they smell us without actually detecting, but make stealth a little more difficult.

I don't think that would ruin the faction identity either. Bugs also have ranged units. The ranged bugs fill the gaps left by the melee bugs without feeling out of place. The bots are kind of lacking that.

Also, it would give some enemy variety to lower difficulty players. I have some friends who prefer the lower difficulties, but I don't often join them because theres so little enemy variety that it just gets boring. They play the game too and they deserve new enemies like us high diff players get.

Do we have any Discord for HelldiversMasochists? Or some other equivalent Discord for "pro" masochists? The game is pretty popular, but I can’t find any Discord for “weirdos” looking for more intense experiences.

I’d really like it to be easier to find a lobby with unusual loadouts or for duo play. I do have a Discord with lots of people and a clan one as well, but not many people enjoy the same playstyle as I do.

Let me start with me telling you how much I LOVE the game:

I have 800 hours in raw mission time alone (Steam says Thousand+), It's the only game I've consistently been playing daily since I got it a year ago. But, I won't be mentioning all that I love about this game, for I don't think it'd get us anywhere to list all the thing I don't want improved/changed.

The optimised way to play is to leave the team.

Every game, on Every Front, by far the BEST tactic is to.. not play Cooperatively. Why?

  1. When shit goes wrong, your team enters a deathloop. Deathloops are what lose missions. But when alone? When alone, if you fuck up, BAD, so bad that there are hundreds of enemies, if you die, you come back safe and sound somewhere else. No DeathLoop. Ever.
  2. The timer in the corner is screaming at you to "GO FAST!! GO GO GO", the best way to "Go Fast"? Seperate from the team. This would be GREAT for a horror game, but this is meant to be Co-Op.. Sticking together should be the whole thing. That being said, I don't think it's the timer's fault, but if you lose a mission to time, it objectively is because you didn't split up.
  3. Running is a perfectly valid stratregy when solo, which again, promotes Lone Wolf behaviour, as it's much easier to survive alone than to go Saving Private Ryan in a team.

The game incetivises you to not make specialised builds, and instead be a master of none.

  1. Because of the previous point, if you plan to rely on your team, and only bring Anti-Chaff, the best you're going to get is to duo with someone that wanted to run off alone.
  2. Your primary is enough for everything but Heavies, leading you to always want to choose a support that deals with heavies. When playing on Mindless Masses, THE Chaff subfaction, I saw people bring RRs. They thrived. I didn't see a single person bring the Stalwart.

The Solutions

  1. Make solo play more difficult by increasing manual reload of all backpack weapons by 1.5x, this would require the team to cover reloading people, or to team reload. Edit: actual Solo players should get a mini-guard dog that can team reload
  2. Make team-reload possible by having the backpack on the floor, next to the user. This would be a clear indicator to teammates that RR Steeve wants to be reloaded.
  3. Have reinforces only take effect if the player reinforcing is within ~100 meters of the dead player's body. After a week or so, this would make Lone Wolves extinct, make Ghost Diving riskier (more fun?), and also leave 2-2 seperation as is, because that's peak co-op. (Maybe have the "Reinforce Area" slowly increase so it isn't a hassle to reinforce someone, but still punishing to die alone)
  4. Decrease the spawnrate of all heavily armoured enemies, but greatly increase the spawn of Chaff-Mediums, so that specialisation into either of those is actually needed on D10, and not just a fun thing you can do. And no, this wouldn't get rid of AT Specialisation, as primaries can't deal well with Heavies.

Buff the Ultimatum Do I suit in with this sub ?

I'm an old player which came from Malevelon creek and lost it's PC during financial problem. I'm now on PS5 and just enjoy myself playing with the R-2124 Constitution and the Ultimatum against the Bots .

I'm just here to see if I suit here or if it's actually quite a decent pick for a player ?

I play diff 5 solo or start MP at diff 6 if it help the judgment .

pistol sway enthusiast I feel like our weapon attachment system can be slightly overhauled so people have more reason to swap their attachments, making different builds

●muzzle brake now gives +15% sway
●compensator now gives +15% sway

[This buff is because of the sway getting moved to different places]

●Short magazine now gives -10% sway
●Drum magazine now gives +10% sway
●High Dissipation Heatsink now gives -10% sway
●High Capacity Heatsink now gives +10% sway

[This would allow players to make more accurate low capacity builds while also making drum mags a bit harder to use]

●Half/Full choke and Duckbill now give +10% sway and -5 ergo

[currently there's no reason not to run a choke and provides no downside unlike the other muzzles, this could be tweaked further for balance]

●no underbarrel now gives -10% sway

[Having no underbarrel has barely any upside other than +5 ergo, which more ergo can be provided with an angled grip at the cost of recoil, this is to make it a more appealing option for those that want ergo/accuracy, without the added recoil]

●no optics now gives +5 ergo

[Despite being Iron Sights, it doesn't provide the +5 ergo and instead is like the Reflex, Reflex Mk 2, Holographic, and 1.5x Tube Red Dot]

My hope for these changes would be for players to experiment more with their attachments, allowing players to create more accurate builds, while also trying to keep the current downsides somewhat the same

Do you guys think high rpm guns have a theoretical DPS and an "effective DPS"?

I think crouch discipline (and recoil reduction armours) are a HUGE blind spot in the community's idea of weapon DPS.

Loads of arguments completely ignore how much DPS is lost to bullets simply not hitting their targets at all, sprayed all over the environment/armour.

Your weapon's effective DPS is actually your entire HELLDIVER'S ability to connect all their shots - and it will vary wildly based on how much sway/recoil your crouch discipline imparts, the enemy's distance from you, AND customisations that reduce spread etc.

Basically my point is, calculating effective DPS is way more subjective and complicated than just looking at stats.
